The Bard of Pittsburgh African Legacy Theatre (BOP) recognises the contribution of August Wilson to global culture much like the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) acknowledges the genius of William Shakespeare, the Bard of Avon.

Bard of Pittsburgh UK welcomes new Executive Director

We are delighted to announce that Valerie Synmoie has joined our team to lead the work of Bard of Pittsburgh UK as we work towards fully establishing the organisational structure, developing our programme plans and launching in late 2027.

Valerie has over 20 years experience as a creative business leader, most recently as Executive Director & Co-CEO of Tamasha. Valerie also recently worked with tiata fahodzi as Interim Executive Director, and is a consultant with Eastside People. Previous roles have included Head of Development, and also Head of International Strategy at Arts Council England (London and National offices), and Business Manager at the International Arts Bureau.

BoP partners with existing organisations to facilitate the production of plays which reflect the BoP mission. Our aim is to enhance rather than initiate productions, tours and training.
