Bard of Pittsburgh UK welcomes new Executive Director

We are delighted to announce that Valerie Synmoie has joined our team to lead the work of Bard of Pittsburgh UK as we work towards fully establishing the organisational structure, developing our programme plans and launching in late 2027.

Valerie has over 20 years experience as a creative business leader, most recently as Executive Director & Co-CEO of Tamasha. Valerie also recently worked with tiata fahodzi as Interim Executive Director, and is a consultant with Eastside People. Previous roles have included Head of Development, and also Head of International Strategy at Arts Council England (London and National offices), and Business Manager at the International Arts Bureau.

Valerie has a longstanding commitment to developing creative work that reflects the diversity within the UK and to producing work that reflects and resonates with Black and Global Majority communities. She is the founder and Project Manager of the Black & Global Majority Executive Leaders Network, and also Co-Chair of People United which co-creates projects with marginalised and minoritised communities in the coastal areas of Kent.
